It has been a busy month for Enfield Sea Cadets, based in Ponders End. Our youngsters have been busy collecting qualifications and was recently reviewed by both our London Area Senior Staff Officer, Cdr (SCC) Karen Fulton RNR and the Captain of The Sea Cadets, Capt. Hannah Mackenzie VR RN.
Our cadets have recently gained Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards, BTec Level 1 in Teamwork and Personal Skills and qualifications in Power Boating, Sailing, First Aid and Marine Engineering!
We offer youngsters opportunity to develop the “Soft Skills” that the regular school curriculum doesn’t offer. They meet new people from all backgrounds and get to try out all kinds of activities like Expeditions, Climbing, Water sports, Engineering and Aviation.
We are currently raising funds to bring our own boating facilities up to standard so that we can continue to enjoy the River Lea.
It is our honour to be joining other organisations in this year’s Remembrance Day Parade in Enfield Town.
